Secondary and Post-Secondary welding programs:
The AWS SENSE program is a comprehensive set of minimum standards and guidelines for welding education programs. These specifications and guidelines help training organizations build a welding education program that is flexible and modular while meeting the requirements deemed essential by industry. Schools can incorporate SENSE into their own curriculum in order to help attain Perkins funding as well as to help insure an education that is consistent with other SENSE schools across the nation. This program is fully supported by the American Welding Society
Post-Secondary welding technician programs:
Weld-Ed has developed a set of student learning outcomes appropriate for post-secondary Welding Technician programs. The Welding Technician National Core Curriculum – Student Learning Outcomes is a validated listing of the core of what students should know and be able to do after completing a welding technician program.
